The cognitions about the influence of the experience with the caretakers in a child’s early developmental period onto a lifelong behavior and health of a person in future, today represent one of the most contemporary paradigm in the world that are starting to change many spheres in the society by the power of the facts, especially regarding the parenting and psychotherapy.
These enlightening and deep insights about the formation of personality, personally I’ve started to receive through a six-year education for the Integrative body psychotherapy therapist (program which unites more psychotherapeutic approaches). I remember being fascinated with the cognition how nearly everything we do as therapists with adults, it all comes down to “repair” neglects and mistakes of the parents, on whose behalf we have all sorts of problems as adults. Even when the emotional or psychological wound or traumatic experience has developed later in a more mature phase of life, again we would have to consider the early development and soon it would become very visible how that later harmful experience wouldn’t be so devastating if the experiences from the early period didn’t drive a person to have permanent consequences when experiencing new harmful situations such as emotional, marital, business problems or crisis.
